Have you ever wondered if your mental health is getting worse? Mental health,  like physical health,  affects everyone, with or without mental illness. Your mental and emotional health can sometimes fluctuate depending on the stress of your life. So it's always a good idea to check for yourself and measure your mental health condition. 

With that in mind, here are 10 signs that your mental health is deteriorating.

1. You lose interest in the little things

Do you suddenly see more of your favorite activity? If you start losing enthusiasm for the little things in life, this is a sign that your mental health may not be at its best. You may feel this way due to the stress overload of your life, or you feel overwhelmed by all the tasks and to-do lists. Losing interest and enjoying your previous hobbies and activities can also be a warning sign of depression. If you think this may happen to you, know that you are not alone and that help is right there. Talk to a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional to get the help you need to overcome these difficult times.

2. Easily getting overwhelmed

Do you think you are more overwhelmed than usual? If you have a to-do list for two or three tasks, do you feel like you're doing ten things? Being easily overwhelmed by your daily life may be a sign of poor mental health. According to psychotherapist Sheri Jacobs, feeling mentally overwhelmed can be an internal reaction to excessive external stress. To deal with this overwhelming emotion, you can keep a diary, meditate, and practice mindfulness.  

3. You are not so sociable anymore

Are you tired of interacting with people these days? Whether you are introverted, extroverted, or in between, we all have a normal level of comfort when it comes to social interaction. Be careful if you feel below your comfort level. Remember that interacting with people can make you feel better now, even if you feel sick. 

4. You don't have a regular sleep schedule

Did you create a seemingly random sleep schedule? Do you sleep all day when you want to wake up at a certain time in the morning? If you have an irregular sleep pattern, it may indicate an increase in stress in your life and a deterioration in your mental health. If you're having trouble adjusting your sleep,  try establishing a routine to wake up and go to bed at the same time each day. This will allow the body to return to its normal sleep and wake rhythm and will not cause sleep disorders.

5. You always feel exhausted

Do you always feel exhausted, even though you get enough sleep and eat well? According to Healthline, mental fatigue can occur when you are under long-term stress, and such fatigue can make you feel like you are trying to climb a mountain. Not just tired, but when you are very tired and constantly tired, you can struggle to get something done. Treatment plans vary from person to person, but there are still the most effective ways to get rid of this fatigue. 

6. Your anxiety level seems to be increasing

8. Difficulties to focus or concentrate

Do you find it difficult to concentrate and continue working? Is it difficult to understand when you read it? Do you have to read the same passage over and over again? It may be associated with potential mental disorders such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety, but lack of concentration can also be due to stress and lack of self-care. Frequent loss of focus can be frustrating and these emotions are valid and normal. Remember to take care of yourself, and know that help is available when you recover.

9. You may have a hard time adjusting your impulses

Whether it's shopping therapy, consuming all shows, or playing video games for hours on end, this impulsive behavior may indicate a deterioration in mental health. You may develop some unhealthy habits to deal with the stresses of life, to be self-fulfilling, and to distract from important life issues. 10.  You feel uneasy, or hard to feel calm

If you have a hard time feeling calm, it can be a sign that you have a mental issue. You can try to connect your body to the world around you. According to Irene Langeveld, an energy worker, and meditation coach, grounding begins at the root chakra at the bottom of the spine. This is known to give you peace of mind. Hiking, meditation, walking, and other activities that connect your body to the world around you are all great ways to find a feeling of ground contact.
